Hello, it's so nice to meet you.
At our facilities, every day is a new day.
And each new day brings its own challenges and opportunities. We help people get the most out of every moment.
Morning Routine
John likes to get up at 7:30 every morning. His caregiver, Will, helps him use the bathroom, brush his teeth and get dressed and ready for breakfast. Will knows that the familiar smell of his aftershave is comforting to John, so he gives him a little splash even if he hasn’t had a shave that morning. They make their way to the dining room, and along the way, John appreciates the familiarity of the color coordinated walls. He has his favorite breakfast of Cream of Wheat, fresh fruit and coffee. John sits with his “Coffee Clutch” gang and they chat about what life was like when they were growing up. After breakfast, John has a visit from the nursing staff for his medication and to check up on his blood pressure, as they’ve been monitoring it. Will puts on John’s favorite classical radio station, and John settles in for some reading.
Afternoon Activities
John’s daughter and great-grandson come to have lunch with him. John doesn’t always recognize his daughter, but he loves to see the baby and tries to make him laugh. After lunch they take a walk around the grounds and spend some time admiring the garden. This is also the day of the week dogs are brought in for Pet Therapy. John had a Golden Retriever growing up and never misses a chance to pet a dog. Even on bad days, the feeling of a dog’s fur has a calming effect on John. After a busy afternoon, John’s daughter and Will help him back to his room for an afternoon nap.
Evening with Friends
John’s evening caregiver Malcolm comes to take him to dinner. John’s favorite part of dinner, is what comes after: ICE CREAM. John worked in an ice cream parlor to help pay for college (and so he could have free ice cream). Everyone knows about John’s special love of ice cream and he loves telling them stories about working in the ice cream parlor. After dinner, he joins his friends for their nightly TV show and socializing and then receives his evening medications. At the end of his evening, Malcolm takes John back to his room where he helps him with toileting and getting ready for bed. It has been a good day.
